Vero Beach is located on Florida’s east coast in Indian River County along A1A or along HWY 60. It’s part of Florida’s Treasure Coast named for its beautiful coastline. It’s located about 1 ½ hours southeast of Orlando and about 2 ½ hours north of Miami. Coming from the west coast near Sarasota takes you across SR70 across the peninsula.
The Beauty Of A Town

Vero Beach is known for its uncrowded beaches, upscale resorts, and downtown shopping and dining district. It offers a relaxed atmosphere mixed with the beauty of outdoor beachliving. Within Vero Beach, you will also find cultural experiences in the Riverside Theater and Riverside Park area. Although Vero Beach stretches out from A1A well into Hwy 60 where you can find your mall, big chain restaurants and stores, and even a Vero Beach Disney Resort, we will focus on the downtown drive of A1A and the quaint ocean side area of Vero Beach.
Autumn’s Day of Fun Recommendations
A do not miss recommendation is the Farmers Market located right off A1A. This market was opened in 2007 and continues today to fill the needs that you might have for fresh produce, plants, pastries, and creative finds. It is a mixture of locals and visitors with a relaxed vibe. Bring your leashed pet to check out the area as you walk the market then head out for a leisure walk down the drive. Be prepared to leave with bags full of found treasures.
When you’re done with the market, put away your goods and head to the beach. The beach area offers a beautiful coastline where you can collect shells, take a walk, and watch the beautiful sun or moon rises. The beach area is clean and has an available lifeguard. When the kids are done with the water, they can burn energy on the nearby park or walk the strip for ice cream breaks, lunch, or shopping. It is all available along this strip in Vero Beach.

Events Almost Every Weekend
Are you here with girlfriends or having a sisters get-together? You’ll find beautiful boutiques that line A1A with unique finds by local artisans and beach vibe treasures. It is a beautiful way to explore this east coast treasure.
If you are not there for the beach vibe, check out Riverside Park off Riverside Park Drive. Be prepared for an event any weekend you visit. There are multiple family-friendly events throughout the year. You might also enjoy a visit to Veteran’s Park Memorial found within the park. It is a beautiful memorial honoring all US veterans. This park is massive, a beautiful place with available gazebos, walking paths, and tennis courts. During our trip, we enjoyed a picnic under a covered gazebo with our family and a walk through the beautiful tree canopied walkway.
Are You Here For the Arts?

In addition to the beach and main drive of A1A, you can find the largest professional theater in Florida. The Riverside Theater is nestled within Riverside Park and its beginnings date back to 1973 when it was opened as a cultural park. Throughout the years, it has been renovated and improved to meet the needs of the artistic community. They offer a variety of shows throughout the year. The Riverside Theatre offers a multitude of classes for all ages and has a great yearly line-up of drama and art that cover all genres. This is a must stop for anyone that enjoys the arts or is looking for a fun night out in Vero Beach.
You can wrap up your art day by visiting the Vero Beach Museum of Art literally steps away from the Theater. It is a very affordable day for the family. A variety of free Saturdays throughout the year are also offered by the museum. A sculpture park and many artistic showings make up this art museum. Add it to your list to do if you are an art fanatic.
And, Of Course, The Food Stops

No matter what your traveling situation- girls meet up, family outing, a night out- you’ll fin
d somewhere to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacking. If you’re looking for a seafood flare, Mulligan’s Beach House – Mulligan’s Beach House not only provide the fill for that, it also offers a great Atlantic view. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as late night bar and grill during the weekends. Check out some of their continuous specials throughout the summer months. It’s a perfect place to meet up when you’re visiting Vero.
If you’re on the look-out for casual walk up, then Casey’s Place is a MUST. It is located a quick walk from the beach and offers outside patio dining. The vibe is relaxed and local. I would recommend the grilled chicken salad. Everything was fresh, loaded and tasty. Our family tested the burgers, the grilled chicken sandwiches, and salads. Every bite was made to perfection. The portions are generous and the people are friendly. This is a definite top of the list for casual dining. You can check out the Menu here and make a plan to stop by.
We ended our day with a trip for sweet treats. There are multiple available bakeries and ice cream shops that line the drive.
Vero Beach offers you everything a quick day jaunt in Florida should offer- the beach, the outdoors, unique shops and boutiques, and delicious food.
Remember to make memories, share laughs, and visit Florida.
